Visitor Celebration

Caroline continues to do well - meeting some milestones and struggling with others - basic updates:

  • She is now receiving breast milk through her NG Tube (small feeding tube placed in her nose)
  • PICC line is in place for administering fluids, drugs, etc.
  • Bilirubin light is still in place, however her levels are declining, so she is losing 1 additional light on Monday morning. Hopefully, she'll be able to lose all of them in the next couple of days.
  • Because she has to be under the lights as much as possible, she is only able to be held twice a day for 30 minutes, so all are looking forward to seeing her sweet eyes again (although the sunshades are fashionable, we'll be thrilled to see her sweet face again soon).
  • She is still breathing on her own, but the number of times she forgets to breath are increasing - this is to be expected and for the most part she is able to correct these events on her own (which is good news).
She's had lots of visitors, including a special introduction to Grandpa this afternoon. She was also serenaded by her sister late this morning to, "Doe, a deer, a female deer, Ray, a drop of golden sun..."

Here are a few new photos to enjoy.
